Fundraising Advice and Guidance

There is a wealth of fundraising advice and guidance. Some of it is excellent, but some just isn’t that good.  To get you started on your own journey into this maze of information, I’m providing you with the sources that I think are the cat’s ass – they are the best of the best.

Each link will provide you with excellent information by way of free newsletters, articles, webinars, courses, free advice and consulting services.

Exploring fundraising with these links, will lead you to more and more links.  Off you go and enjoy what you discover.

Moceanic

My absolutely favourite fundraising source was co-founded by Sean Triner, a leader in fundraising advice. This site is my go-to for fundraising advice and it’s just about all free. They have tons of great articles, courses, newsletters, webinars and terrific advice for all levels of fundraising expertise. Definitely worth it to look around this Website. Can I brag for a moment? Sean Triner wrote a wonderful testimonial for this book.

Future Fundraising Now

My second favourite resource for fundraising is affiliated with Moceanic above. It provides daily newsletters and blogs by Geoff Brooks, another renown expert in Fundraising. They offer terrific free daily mini-newsletters as well as tons of articles, videos and more. Moceanic sum it all quite nicely: The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them.

This Website offers great articles, newsletters, webinars, conferences and tons of research to help charities with research driven-strategies to grow online fundraising.

While the focus on this website is more on the technology aspect with great information and advice of how software can help all aspects of running a charity, they also offer great fundraising advice, along with newsletters and webinars.

Philanthropy U

This Website offers a wide range of courses for charities and those who want to learn how to help charities. The courses cover all aspects of a running the charity given by experts in the non-profit field.

This Website provides motivation and training on how to ask for money. They have a good newsletter and offer a variety of fundraising courses.
